​THE FOX GOLF SOCIETY

​Welcome to the new Fox Golf Society website.

 

Following several years of casual golfing events The Fox Golf Society was formed in February 2010 to provide a more organised framework for the ever increasing number of local residents playing golf on a regular basis.  In addition, many regulars at The Fox Inn felt the Society could act as a vehicle to continue the considerable charitable efforts of the late Chris Gibson, landlord of The Fox Inn, a keen supporter of several golf societies.

The first meeting was held on 11th February 2010 when over 20 regulars met in The Fox and elected a Committee and agreed the way forward.

There are now currently some 40 (odd!) members, with the majority coming from within the Matching Parish.  ​Since 2010, The Fox Golf Society has raised in excess of £30,000 for local charities and organisations, such as St Clare Hospice, For Crohns, The J's Hospice, Wallace Cancer Care, Harlow Poors Charities, Matching Pre-School, The Matching Friendly Club, Matching Green Cricket Club, St Elizabeths, Multiple Sclerosis, YMCA, Cancer Research, Grove Cottage to name but a few.
